Christian L’Huillier

Born on 28 October 1961 in Cenon (33). Chemist as a first training, he branches off to photography at the Louis Lumière school to finish his training (graduated in 1982).
A man of laboratories, photographic chemistry and technique, he joined the team at the National School of Photography in Arles where he switched from teaching black and white printing techniques to colour and large format photography.
A lover of old techniques in photography, he practises or has practised most of the processes of the 19th century.

In a constant desire to master the tools, he was taught electronics and lighting. He has also taught sensitometry, sensitive surface technology and photometry to BTS classes in photography, for IFROA, and has given introductory courses in photography techniques to museum curators and courses in Cibachrome process printing as well as courses in printing on baryte silver support in NB during the Rencontres d’Arles (92/93) and in art schools.
From 2006 to 2008, he followed a training course in lighting control at the AFE (French Lighting Association).
