Project IMAGE=IMAGES IMAGINES

The project Image = images imagines carried out with the students of the ENSP is conceived as a collective experience around the documentary interview.

What are the images that we keep in mind?
Those images that we don’t need photos to remember?
How does our imagination transform these images?
What do we see when someone
tells us a memory?
Images imagined from stories to transform them into images.

Conference

His work combines video, photography, installations and poetic narratives. Enrique Ramírez loves stories with drawers, fictions that straddle countries and eras, mirages between dream and reality. The work of this Chilean artist, who lives and works between Chile and France, focuses on video form and installations: it is often through images and sound that he builds his teeming plots and insinuates himself in a balance between the poetic and the political.

His imaginary nesting imagination is anchored in an obsessive element – he thinks from the sea, a memory space in perpetual movement, a space of narrative projections where the destiny of Chile and the great tales of travel, conquest and migration intertwine. Liquid, his images tell the shimmering of a truth that is always elusive, the backwash of History, always the same, never the same.

Enrique Ramírez presented his work as an artist at the school on 11 March 2020.
